The new and latest version of AVG Free, version 9, is now available to download.

We normally recommend downloading from the excellent Filehippo, where there is a lot of other interesting stuff to try out.

If anyone is having trouble getting the download, let us know and we will send you a direct link.

This new version optimises the scan the first time it is run, which should make subsequent scans quicker.  This can't be bad.

This is still a really good free anti-virus and we recommend this ahead of most of the paid anti-virus programs.
